Schools - don't miss this!
The Real Voices team spent the day at All Saints' Church of England (VC) Primary School in the village of Trysull, Wolverhampton, to record an amazing celebration of songs from church, musicals and seasons. The school hall was turned into a recording studio, and stopping only for lunch, the recording session began.
The children sang their hearts out, and Real Voices Project Manager Steve Joseph explained some of the basics of sound recording to allow them to catch their breath!
As the day ended, Headteacher Mrs Able congratulated the children and staff on their hard work. The 17 track album was completed, and the sound engineers took away the recording master to edit. The CD sleeve was designed by a year 6 pupil, and incorporates the school logo and uniform colours.
Three schools pre-recorded their Christmas productions, from Nursery to Year 6, and had the CD produced ready to sell at their Christmas shows. Long Knowle Primary School in Wednesfield had over 30 tracks on their CD, reflecting the huge amount of work from pupils, parents and staff that had gone into their Christmas production.
The great thing is that their efforts are captured as a legacy forever, on a CD album.
Mossley Primary School ("Wish For Snow") and D'Eyncourt Primary School also produced some brilliant recordings of their entire school. Mossley Primary School ran a competition in the local press for the CD design, while D'Eyncourt Primary School took numerous photographs of the children in their various Christmas Show costumes for the CD cover.
