Can my school really qualify for a free recording session?

Yes, and there is no financial risk to the school. All you have to do is purchase your CDs based on orders placed by parents, family and friends. In fact your school could make a profit by adding its own mark-up! We may charge expenses if the school is some distance from our studio in central England, but we keep this cost to a minimum. The only condition is that we record at least 150 pupils.

How long does the recording session last?
We can normally complete it in a morning or afternoon session. Each song should take 10-15 minutes to record.

What kind of room do you need to record in?
We can record in any room that is large enough to hold the children, whether it’s a school hall or (preferably) a classroom. If possible, the room needs to be away from loud sound sources such as a main road or kitchen area.

What can we record?
As this is your album, you may choose anything you like. We can supply professional backing tracks, or you can use your own instrumentalists to play along with the children singing, or even use third party backing tracks, subject to approval (which we can obtain on your behalf).

How long does it take to complete the CDs?
Once we record the CD, it normally takes no more than 2 weeks.

Can we make our own design for the CD?
Of course! We supply you with a template, and some creative ideas for the cover. You can run a competition for the best design, and even use photography or images created on a computer.

Who sorts out and pays for all the copyright?
Real Voices will cover all the tracks you record by paying a fee to the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society (MCPS). If we use third party backing tracks we will also ensure that we obtain permission and pay royalties, so the school pays nothing.

How much do the CD's sell for?
CD's are available for sale to parents / friends / relatives from £8.49 each depending on the size of the inlay booklet. You may add a mark-up if you wish, and we will also give you 10 CDs free for every 100 sold.
